Bioware’s upcoming Dragon Age: Origins has a brand new teaser trailer – and a release date: The totally metal RPG will hit store shelves on October 20th.
I’m just gonna say it right off the bat: I think Dragon Age is a horrifically generic and bland name. There’s no hook to it – if I had to choose a game to play just based on the name? Dragon Age: Origins would be pretty far down the list.
So it’s a good thing that what we’re seeing of the rest of the game more than makes up for the uninspired name. Sure, it looks like your standard High Fantasy fare, but since when is that necessarily a bad thing? Dragon Age seems to be essentially what you’d get if you took the works of Tolkien and had them rock out to Iron Maiden for a while. And you know what? That’s totally fine by me.
Dragon Age will be joining BrĆ¼tal Legend another heavy metal fantasy (with significantly more emphasis on heavy metal, and less on fantasy) set to release in October. Or should we say Rocktober?
