The ever prolific Hideo Kojima has confirmed that he’s not only working on the new Metal Gear titles, but something he’s “been wanting to make,” a new game in a new franchise.
There’s no rest for Hideo Kojima. Even after he says he’s not going to work on any more Metal Gear games, someone gets something wrong and the master duck rider needs to step in and take the reins. PSP title Peace Walker isn’t the only thing currently on Kojima’s plate, however. In addition to that game, Kojima and his team are working on a few other projects, including one that’s a brand new IP.
Apparently Kojima Productions is currently in the process of building some new technology for “the next Metal Gear or the next new series” they’re working on. So what exactly are these games? “First of all I can name Metal Gear Solid Rising – that’s going to be on the preparation list,” Kojima said. “Also there’s a new title that we haven’t announced that I’ve wanted to make for a long time – that’s on the list as well. And also a couple of other new titles we’re preparing now.”
Other new titles, eh? “The one that I said that I’ve been wanting to make – this is a new franchise and a new title,” Kojima explained. “For the other couple of titles, it could be something that you always wanted to have. It could be, or it could be something else.”
Well, that’s really not vague at all. Something I “always wanted to have?” I always wanted to have a duck-riding simulator, well, that and Zone of the Enders 3.
