In the surest sign yet that new DLC for Mass Effect is imminent, three new Achievements have quietly been added to the game.
Gamers have been waiting for the second Mass Effect DLC release since June, when BioWare honchos Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka said that an official announcement would be coming soon. Later that same month, a message on BioWare’s Twitter feed said news about the DLC “may be coming this week,” but the week came and went with nothing said about it. In fact, virtually nothing has been said since and these three new Achievements appeared with absolutely no fanfare whatsoever.
Each of the new Achievements is worth 50 points, bringing the total for Mass Effect to 1200. They are:
Undisputed – Complete Ahern’s survival mission
New Sheriff in Town – Take first place in any combat scenario on Pinnacle Station
Best of the Best – Take first place in 12 combat scenarios on Pinnacle Station
Is the new DLC finally ready to go? BioWare has remained mum on the topic but the addition of these new Achievements is a good sign that something is on the way. They’re also a pretty clear indicator that early reports that the new add-on would center around some sort of casino/gaming/Fight Club space station” were accurate.
We’ve contacted BioWare for more information and will update when we find out more. Stay tuned!
