Nintendo has a series of Professor Layton-themed events in the works that will see whether guys or gals are better at the whole puzzle-solving thing.
Professor Layton and his apprentice Luke have a new adventure on the way – Professor Layton and the Unwound Future will hit store shelves September 12th – and Nintendo is quickly ramping up efforts to promote the quirky puzzle title.
A series of events in San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, and Philadelphia meant to draw attention to Unwound Future will be testing the puzzle-solving acumen of lads and ladies alike – and seeing how the two compare.
For the first event, held in San Francisco’s on September 7th, Nintendo will be setting up red British-style phone booths all throughout Union Square. Actors dressed as characters from the game will be in said phone booths, presenting puzzles to passers-by. The faux Professors (et al) will then tally up the score of their female and male recipients respectively, and see how they compare.
While Luke and Layton are both guys, the series does have a female puzzle-solver as well in the young Flora, so remember, there is canon support for this! Or something.
It’s a battle of the sexes, in a battle of wits! A … battle of sex wits! Witty sex? Ah hell, that’s a joke that’s just not going to happen.
