There’s more than one way to bust out of jail, which is pretty much the point of a new video for the Witcher 2.
Dark fantasy RPG The Witcher 2 shares the same non-linear structure as its predecessor, where a choice made at the beginning of the game might have terrible – or terrific – consequences later on. The Witcher 2 takes it a little further though, by giving players more options than just combat, as is deftly shown in a new gameplay video.
The video – which contains a few seconds of exposed breasts, so probably isn’t safe for work or school – is designed to demonstrate the non-linear gameplay and story progession in The Witcher 2, and shows main character Geralt’s friends telling the tale of how he escaped from a prison cell. Each story is slightly different, showing off the various ways of approaching and handling the same situation. We also get a look at some of Geralt’s magic, which includes spells to snuff out torches and see people through walls.
While the conversation between Geralt’s friends and a few sections in the jailbreak itself are scripted, the rest looks like actual gameplay. It seems like The Witcher 2 has more options than the first game did, and the stealth section looks pretty well implemented.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is scheduled for release early next year.
