Do you like writing about nerdy things that aren’t necessarily games? Have you ever thought about moving to sunny North Carolina? If yes, The Escapist might be looking for someone just like you.
As you can see just over here to the left (on the forums), my title here at The Escapist is “Games Editor.” That means I do a lot of writing about games – reviews, previews, and the like. While most of us here (if not all of us) play games, that isn’t the only thing we do: From columns about tabletop gaming to reviews of the latest anime titles, we at The Escapist have always prided ourselves on having a wide range of content for people of every geeky taste.
Right now, we’re hoping to continue that – and to expand it, too. The Escapist is looking for “a full-time editor with a high degree of geek chic” to join one of the most awesome editorial teams in the industry. While a healthy love for videogames is perfectly fine (and indeed, encouraged), this Non-Games Editor would be in charge of finding, editing and creating excellent content that, as the name might suggest, isn’t about videogames.
This means content about movies and television shows. It means content about comic books, manga and anime. It means content about cosplay at sci-fi conventions, late-night tabletop gaming sessions, the latest fantasy literature, webcomics and web video – you know, that sort of thing.
As always, we’re looking for the best of the best. If you think you have what it takes and are willing to move down to work at The Escapist‘s totally rockin’ HQ in warm Durham, North Carolina (or if you live here already), then head on over to the Craigslist posting and check it out!
