Major Nelson Confirms 17 Kinect Launch Titles

Microsoft has finalized the list of launch titles for its motion controller accessory, all 17 of them.

Microsoft is launching its Kinect motion control system on November 4th. The controller-less system will have an unprecedented amount of support with 17 titles using the Kinect in the month of November. Most will be available on the 4th, but there are a few stragglers including the Harry Potter movie tie-in game. In comparison, the Xbox 360 launched in the US with 18 titles and Sony’s PlayStation with only 8 new games for Move.

Major Nelson stresses that if you haven’t already, you should pre-order Kinect now as many retailers are reporting sellouts. “I am getting reports of many retailer being sold out of their Kinect pre-order allotment,” Nelson said on his blog. “So if you have not placed your order yet you may want to take care of that.”

After seeing a lot of the launch titles demonstrated at E3, including Kinectimals and Dance Central, I was hoping we’d see the Star Wars title sneak onto this list. Alas, I’ll have to be content playing with my Kinectimal. Don’t judge!
