Tron: Legacy Remade a la 8-Bit Mega Man

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

What sort of power-up do you get for beating Light Cycle Man?

Fallout isn’t the only thing getting an 8-bit “demake” today, it seems: Animator Pierre Manry has posted a short and silly re-imagining of one of the action sequences from Tron: Legacy as if it were a game played on the original NES.

To be specific, this is Tron: Legacy as if it were Mega Man. It’s harder to catch during the light cycle bit, but during the disc battle those jump sprites are unmistakable.

Okay, there’s not much to say about this one other than that it’s cute, nostalgic and pretty skillfully executed (and I’m loving that 8-bit Daft Punk remix), so how about some random wishes? The Tron tie-in game surprisingly didn’t suck, and Capcom has been having good luck lately with its retro-style downloadable Mega Man sequels.

I think I’d totally play a new old-school Tron game if it were released on XBLA/PSN/Wii-Ware and done in the style of Mega Man. Is anyone else with me on this?
