Modder Drops Legend of Zelda Into Minecraft

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

Some days, you don’t want to add another floor to your Doom Citadel, you just want to go on an adventure.

Nintendo has never made a first person Legend of Zelda game – although it kicked the idea around back in the N64 days – but if it did it might look a little something like the Zelda Adventures map that modder Gary520 has created for Minecraft.

The map is currently a work in progress, but already has plenty of hallmarks of the Legend of Zelda series. As you can see from the trailer, it has some of the iconic LoZ items like the Boomerang and Ocarina of Time, as well as some pretty impressive dungeons. The current version has five dungeons, but Gary520 plans to have eight in the final version, amounting to around ten hours of gameplay. According to Gary, the game is a mixture of A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time, with different games inspiring different dungeons.

The amount of effort that has gone into the mod is rather impressive, and it’s ideal for anyone wanting a little more out of Minecraft than just building castles and avoiding creepers. You can download the current version of the mod, and keep an eye of future versions, here.
