An 18-year-old health student will sing for millions in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

A few weeks ago, Ubisoft reached out to its fans with a proposal: your voice could grace a track of the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations score. Hundreds of people entered and thousands more voted, but in the end, only one could prevail. Madeline Bell, a Californian college student, will sing the theme for the latest battle between the Assassins and the Templars.

A jury comprised of composers Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe, and Ubisoft representative Simon Landry chose Bell for “a quality in her voice that moved and inspired us all.” Bell actually did not come in first based on the fan votes, but she did place at a respectable 10th with over 700 “likes.” As for the 18-year-old Bell’s qualifications, she has a mellifluous, heady voice that falls somewhere between an alto and a mezzo-soprano. Coincidentally, she also shares a name with a respected soul singer.

If you entered the contest but didn’t win, rest assured that the jury appreciated your submission. “This was never going to be a contest about right or wrong, but about the ‘perfect fit’ and we were all deeply impressed with the submissions,” it wrote. “There is a lot of undiscovered talent out there that deserves to be heard.” Fans will be able to hear Bell sing in-game on November 15, 2011, or listen to her entry at UJAM.
