Stop by the MLG Spring Championship in Anaheim, California to test drive the first expansion to Blizzard’s smash hit RTS.
With Heart of the Swarm adding a bunch of new units to the Terran, Zerg and Protoss arsenals, and changing and removing others, Blizzard is giving the professional e-sports community a chance to check out the latest multiplayer build – as long as they can make it to Los Angeles in June.
Attendees at the Major League Gaming Spring Championship event, held from June 8-10 at the Anaheim Convention Center outside Los Angeles, California, will be able to play the Heart of the Swarm multiplayer in several kiosks on the showroom floor. There, they can check out new units like the Protoss Tempest, Terran Warhound, and Zerg Viper, and inevitably complain about balance issues inherent in a beta test. Perhaps not-so-coincidentally, the Anaheim Convention Center is also the traditional location for BlizzCon.
Blizzard has big plans for the singleplayer campaign in StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, but the series’ main draw has always been its stellar multiplayer. If you’re interested in checking out how things are changing for yourself, as well as watching some undoubtedly-exciting pro matches, tickets are on sale for $35.
You’ll have to get yourself to California, though. No Warp Gates provided.
