Square Enix has announced that the Hitman HD: Trilogy is coming early next year.

If the recent release of Hitman: Absolution has made you nostalgic for the earlier games in the series, Square Enix is there for you. The publisher has announced that Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman Contracts, and Hitman Blood Money are being compiled into a single collection coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 early next year. Appropriately called Hitman HD: Trilogy in Square Enix’s press release, it will be available on January 29, 2013 in North America, with PAL territories getting it on February 1.

Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Hitman Contracts, released in 2002 and 2004, respectively, appeared on last-gen systems, while the 2006 release Hitman Blood Money was one of those on-the-cusp games that came out for last-gen and current-gen consoles, as well as the PC. All three games focus on series protagonist and prolific assassin Agent 47. Hitman HD: Trilogy will allow players to “experience more than 40 intense missions across three classic Hitman games, all presented in glorious HD.”

Hitman HD: Trilogy will be $39.99 when it launches early next year.
