Knightmare Returns, See It Here

This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

You’ve come for an adventure, have you? You might want to wake up Treguard.

Knightmare, the British TV series that pit geeky teens against the dungeon of their dreams, returned to YouTube for one show only. The hero can hold his breath for ten minutes, his helpers are a wannabe dragon, a bad-tempered shrewd person, and someone who’s really good in life or death situations. Not a bad combination, but deals with Sylvester the Jester could be their downfall. You’ll have to watch to find out.

The original Knightmare ran from the late 1980s to the mid 1990s, and this remake features the original Treguard, Hugo Myatt, as well as Jessie Cave (Theodora Snitch) and comedian Isy Suttie as Veruca (or Daisy, if you’d rather). Blind as a bat, our hero wanders the dungeon using his companions’ eyes to figure out where to go, a tactic that sometimes works and sometimes not so much. Still, so long as he can avoid getting eaten by Ariadne all should be well. Or maybe not; Theodora’s got a plan, but it may end up with Beefy steaks on the grill.

So, this is what it means to be a geek, eh? Still wishing it was me in that helmet, but we can’t have everything we want. In the meantime, living vicariously has its benefits!
