The PS4 interface is now a mobile touchscreen away.
The free PlayStation App for iOS and Android tablets and phones is out now for U.K. users, allowing access to the PS4 interface even when the console’s far, far away. While the U.S. version of the PS App didn’t impress The Escapist editors, you can ostensibly use it to chat, get game notifications, browse the store – always remembering to push any games you purchase to your console so it can download the game before you get home – and see all the system guides and manuals you could ever wish for, all while on the go.
The App is basically a smaller version of the standard PS4 interface, and will also give users access to content like the PlayRoom, and games which support second-screen features, like Knack. Just Connect to PS4 and you’re away.
Judging by some of the user reviews, the Android version needs a little polish, but when it works, it’s great. If you’re an iTunes kinda person, take a look over here instead.
