Onslaught is the first of four Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC releases planned for 2014.
The first Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC release will be coming later this month, adding four new maps to the rotation, a new dual-purpose rifle and the first part of the Call of Duty: Extinction narrative arc. The maps are designed to provide fast-paced, small-to-medium scale battles and each offers a unique environment and Field Order reward, the best of which is unquestionably the ability to become Michael Myers of Halloween fame, complete with mask, axe and creeptastic theme song warning everyone else in the field that big trouble is coming.
In the firearms department, Onslaught adds the Maverick, a double-duty rifle that capably fills both the assault and sniper roles. And finally, there’s “Nightfall,” the first of four episodes in the Extinction storyline that will go deeper into the origins of the new alien threat. A small recon team must infiltrate a secret research facility in Alaska to retrieve intel and eradicate the alien infestation – which includes two new Cryptids, one of them a three-storey-tall behemoth that’s the biggest boss monster Infinity Ward has ever created.
Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught launches on January 28 exclusively for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Other platforms will follow.
