The first chapter of R.A. Salvatore’s newest Drizzt Do’Urden book, Night of the Hunter, has been released as a free teaser.
Everyone’s favorite drow is at it again. Drizzt Do’Urden and the Companions of the Hall return to the ancient dwarven city of Gauntlgrym in R.A. Salvatore’s latest novel, Night of the Hunter. Set to release March 4, publisher Wizards of the Coast has made the first 31 pages available to read for free, which includes the prologue and the entire first chapter. You can download the PDF from the official website.
Night of the Hunter is the first book in the Companions Codex series and will retail for $27.95. In it, Drizzt and his friends seek to turn Pwent, loyal shield dwarf of King Bruenor Battlehammer, from vampire back to mortal. Their journey through the Underdark will see them face off against undead and drow alike – possibly under the command of Pwent, himself.
In the book The Last Threshold, the fourth and final in The Neverwinter Saga, Drizzt left a self-loathing Pwent waiting for sunrise in order to commit suicide. In Book One of The Sundering Series, The Companions, Pwent is spotted by Bruenor, so we know the dwarven vampire did not go through with his plan. Instead, he went on to become the leader of an undead band of drow.
The second book in the Companions Codex series, Rise of the King, is set to release August 5.
