New T model celebrates 100 years of Leica photography.
Leica has a new $1,800 camera body for sale — relatively cheap if you’re familiar with the high-end German camera maker.
The T mirrorless body comes in at under two grand, and it’s body is fashioned from one solid piece of aluminum, making for some pretty unforgettable style and durability. The insides are equally impressive, including a 16 MP APS-C sensor, full HD video capture, and ISO up to 12,500. Integrated WiFi, and a 3.7-inch touchscreen give the traditional-looking camera a modern edge, too.
The downside: Most Leica glass won’t work with the T camera out of the box. M-mount lenses can be used…after you shell out $395 for an adapter. Two T-mount lenses are currently available, though: a 18-56mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens, and a 23mm f/2 prime lens are both available for around $1,750. Other T-mount lenses are coming later thia year.
Cheap? Nope. Beautiful? Absolutely. Camera buffs, drop your thoughts in the forums.
