A release date has been announced for Ubisoft’s Great War puzzler.
Ubisoft’s puzzler Valiant Hearts: The Great War now has a release date, and a beautiful trailer. If you’ve been sitting on the fence about this war-torn drama, or just haven’t heard it mentioned before, go watch this and wonder: what would you do on the bloody battlefields of the Marne? Fight to live, for a cause, or for the ones you love?
This is the story of four people and one dog. Emile is a farmer, drafted into the war and fated to be captured after his first battle. His daughter is in love with Karl, but Karl is now – reluctantly – fighting for the Germans, having been kicked out of France as an undesirable alien at the start of the war. Freddie the Foreign Legionnaire looks to be the closest you’ll get to a bad-ass in this saga, but he too has a story to tell: his hopes of happiness were cut short when the Germans invaded. Anne is a daughter of a prominent manufacturer in Ypres, a town which is about to become the focal point of some of the bloodiest fighting of the war. And last but not least, that four legged fella you see there is Walt, a Doberman dog medic who’ll play a key part in the lives of all the characters.
The action kicks off in 1914, but judging by the art – and gorgeous stuff it is, too – it’s going to take you all the way through to the 1918 Armistice. I’ve a soft spot for Great War dramas, and Valiant Hearts is one of the titles I’ve been waiting for; comes out just in time for my birthday, too. It’s almost as if Ubi knew!
This one launches June 25th on PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4, for $14.99.
