A Quiet Place Part II’s new trailer has finally given us a glimpse at how its characters handled the end of the world. John Krasinski is said to be staying behind the camera as writer and director seeing as his character saw an untimely death in the first movie, leaving Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds to carry on in the sequel. Today’s trailer also sees the debut of another couple of roles as well, with Peaky Blinders’ Cillian Murphy and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Djimon Hounsou both joining the cast.

There’s more to Krasinski’s terrifying world than its sound-sensitive creatures. As shown in the footage, the Abbott family is on the move when they are confronted by Murphy’s new survivor character. Not too much is given away, but we can at least see that Blunt is willing to risk it all to prove that there are other people still worth saving.
The film will probably shake things up from the perspective shown in the first movie, as multiple scenes that take place in the past are shown in the trailer. A Quiet Place’s excellent intensity will no doubt return here, though these flashback sequences do suggest a bit more action and maybe even another look at Krasinski’s father character.
The film first saw a tease just in time for the holidays a couple weeks ago.
A Quiet Place Part II premieres March 20, 2020.
