Death School

Death School

Picking a class in most MMOs is a difficult decision. In choosing a class you effectively make a decision about what role you’d like to play. From this point on you’re left at the discretion of the development team as to how they envision the class’s gameplay, role and balance. Hopefully their vision and balance align with yours. If it doesn’t, it may be time to re-roll or even time for a new game.

Fury breaks the class mold entirely. In Fury, you are able to learn abilities from each of the four schools and eight disciplines. You are then given the freedom to create templates consisting of any of the abilities your avatar has learned. You aren’t tied to the developer’s vision of a ‘tank’, ‘healer’ or ‘hybrid’. You define your own vision, your own path, your own Incarnation.

All abilities in Fury are associated with one of the four schools and eight disciplines. The abilities from each school are focused on one primary element and two secondary elements. The four elements are Water, Nature, Fire, and Air.

The following are a few examples from Fury’s 400+ distinct abilities.

image Name: Backstab
Element: Fire
School: Death
Discipline: Destroyer
Charges: Consumption
Effects Category: Damage – stun
Target Type: Single
Description: A physical attack that deals moderate Fire damage and stuns the target. Damage is delivered regardless of any damage absorption shields the target may have. User must be behind the target in order to perform this attack. Targets are less likely to succumb to disruption effects the more often they are used.
Tip: Positional attacks like Backstab require skill and timing, but executing them successfully can give you an almost insurmountable advantage in battle.
image Name: Stormseal
Element: Air
School: Life
Discipline: Champion
Charges: Generation
Effects Category: Buff
Target Type: Group
Description: A Tribute that reduces incoming damage and has a chance to apply another damage reduction effect each time the target is hit.
Tip: Buffs like Stormseal affect your entire group and last a long time, so don’t forget to apply them at the beginning of every battle.
image Name: Cyclone
Element: Nature
School: Growth
Discipline: Oracle
Charges: Consumption
Effects Category: Field – pulse
Target Type: Sphere
Description: Creates a Cyclone at the targeted location, this Cyclone will deal Nature damage and knock back all enemies caught within. Targets are less likely to succumb to disruption effects the more often they are used.
Tip: Nothing is more satisfying than dropping a cyclone on a group of enemies who are standing on a narrow bridge or walkway, and watching them fall to their doom.
image Name: Elemental Mirror
Element: Water
School: Life
Discipline: Champion
Charges: Consumption
Effects Category: Mirror
Target Type: Single
Description: A Blessing that will reflect all incoming Water, Nature, Fire and Air effects used on the target for a short amount of time. Ability cannot be used on self.
Tip: Elemental Mirror both protects an ally momentarily, and reflects all attacks back at their source. This means enemies can cause devastating damage to themselves if they attack someone with an active Elemental Mirror.
