Picking a class in most MMOs is a difficult decision. In choosing a class you effectively make a decision about what role you’d like to play. From this point on you’re left at the discretion of the development team as to how they envision the class’s gameplay, role and balance. Hopefully their vision and balance align with yours. If it doesn’t, it may be time to re-roll or even time for a new game.

Fury breaks the class mold entirely. In Fury, you are able to learn abilities from each of the four schools and eight disciplines. You are then given the freedom to create templates consisting of any of the abilities your avatar has learned. You aren’t tied to the developer’s vision of a ‘tank’, ‘healer’ or ‘hybrid’. You define your own vision, your own path, your own Incarnation.

All abilities in Fury are associated with one of the four schools and eight disciplines. The abilities from each school are focused on one primary element and two secondary elements. The four elements are Water, Nature, Fire, and Air.

The following are a few examples from Fury’s 400+ distinct abilities.

image Name: Frozen Shackle
Element: Water
School: Life
Discipline: Healer
Charges: Consumption
Effects Category: Damage – root
Target Type: Single Target
Description: A spiritual attack that deals heavy Water damage and has a chance to root the target in place. Targets are less likely to succumb to disruption effects the more often they are used.
Tip: Frozen Shackle is very useful for both ranged and melee specialized Incarnations. Ranged characters will make excellent use of Frozen Shackle for keeping melee opponents at a distance, whilst melee characters can use this ability to great advantage in catching fleeing adversaries.
image Name: Sunder
Element: Air
School: Life
Discipline: Champion
Charges: Consumption
Effects Category: Damage Debuff
Target Type: Single Target
Description: A physical attack that deals heavy Air damage and Diseases the target. This Disease lowers the effectiveness of the target’s armor.
Tip: In Fury it’s often important not just to kill your opponent, but to do it quickly. You can’t kill an enemy swiftly if you can’t get through their defenses and Sunder is a great way to do that.
image Name: Defender’s Dart
Element: Nature
School: Growth
Discipline: Oracle
Charges: Generation
Effects Category: Damage buff
Target Type: Single Target
Description: A spiritual attack that deals low Nature damage to the target and gives the user a Boon. This Boon increases armor ratings.
Tip: Defender’s Dart is a solid base attack for any ranged Nature damage Incarnation. Not only does this ability generate Nature charges quickly, it also improves armor ratings with each use. Begin a battle with Defender’s Dart, then use your built-up charges to release some powerful Damage over Time or Knock-Back abilities.
image Name: Wildfire
Element: Fire
School: Growth
Discipline: Oracle
Charges: Consumption
Effects Category: Damage GTAE
Target Type: Sphere
Description: A ground targeted spiritual attack that deals heavy Fire damage to all enemies in the area.
Tip: Like most ground-targeted abilities, Wildfire takes some time to set up, but the payoff is worth it. Not only does Wildfire allow you to deal heavy damage to multiple opponents, it allows you to do so at significant range.
