Ready to alter more carbon? The successful and bold Netflix science fiction series Altered Carbon has just set its season 2 premiere as Feb. 27, which is in line with Netflix announcing dates about a month before a show is scheduled to land. All eight episodes of the series will be available as Anthony Mackie takes over the lead role of Takeshi Kovacs from Joel Kinnaman.

The second season of Altered Carbon will pick up where the first left off, with Takeshi searching for his long lost love, Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry). That search has taken him hundreds of years and many sleeves (new bodies that digitized human consciousness can be downloaded into), but it is now bringing him back to his home planet of Harlan’s World. The plot description hints at more reveals of who Quellcrist really is as Takeshi and Poe, his A.I., attempt to solve a series of gruesome murders. One would assume that there will also be a lot of fantastic action and fights, which highlighted the first season.

Altered Carbon season 2 will also star Chris Conner as Poe, Simone Missick as Trepp, Lela Loren as Danica Harlan, Dina Shihabi as Dig 301, Torben Liebrecht as Colonel Ivan Carrera, and James Saito as Tanaseda Hideki.
