The Tickler

I’m not sure what’s worse: Being crushed to death by the powerful claws of a military robot you created as your magnum opus, or being crushed to death by the powerful claws of a military robot you created as your magnum opus that you named “The Tickler.” Even ignoring the fact that it oddly sounds like a sex toy, that’s just a very ignominious way to go, don’t you think?

Rather than aiming to stop the Robot Apocalypse, as the eponymous Tickler your job is to cause it. Like many action games, as you kill your foes you’ll earn money, and move from weak little kill-bot to unstoppable force of mechanical destruction. Your chief weapon for dealing with those puny fleshbags are your crushing tickle-claws, but you’ll get the chance to upgrade your steely robot body with buzz saws, lasers, and tesla coils.

It’s rather satisfying to crush someone in your hands and watch them explode into giblets, and the hard-rockin’ soundtrack sets the mood (for KILLTACULAR!). Be warned, though – some of the later levels ain’t easy. Man, what’s a robot got to do to get ahead in this world?

Oh, that’s right. Slaughter the organics. Okay, I’ll get right on that.
