Axiom Verge 2 Review in 3 Minutes: A Definitive Step Forward

Recommended Videos

Axiom Verge 2 is a smart and satisfying Metroidvania by indie developer Thomas Happ. A follow-up to the 2015 original, Axiom Verge 2 improves upon its predecessor in nearly every way and, some minor hiccups aside, is a fascinating expansion of the universe and lore.

The first game was an impressive take on 8-bit aesthetics and the Metroidvania formula back in 2015. Six years later, Axiom Verge 2 has proven to be a definitive step forward in nearly every department, as well as a zoomed-out expansion on the world and lore that Thomas Happ has created. Iā€™m excited to see where weā€™re taken to next.

Axiom Verge 2 is available today for $19.99 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via the Epic Game Store.
