The briefest footage after the longest wait.
Bethesda has announced that their upcoming E3 Showcase event will include a gameplay demonstration of DOOM. Accompanying the announcement is a teaser video so short that it probably could have been released as a pair of screenshots for all you’ll get out of it. The Bethesda E3 Showcase event featuring the new demo will occur on June 14 at 7pm Pacific.
Originally titled DOOM 4, denoting its position as the fourth major title in the series, the game has been known to be in production at id Software since 2008. In 2013, it was learned that development had restarted completely in 2011, with production being halted on Rage 2 and that title’s team merged with the group working on DOOM. Sources inside the organization have claimed that poor leadership and internal conflicts between the merged teams plagued development both before and after the project was restarted.
DOOM is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and is planned for a simultaneous release on all platforms. No release date has yet been announced.
