In a failed attempt at ironic terrorism, a Japanese man has been arrested for trying to bomb the studio behind the Bomberman series.

Tokyo metropolitan police have arrested 29 year-old Takao Ike of Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan for repeatedly threatening to blow up Hudson Entertainment, publisher of the Bomberman games.

Since October, Ike, a part-time package courier, reportedly sent the company eleven messages warning that he would attach explosives to packages and mail them to the company if they didn’t take 80,000,000,000,000 Yen to the JR Takamatsu station.

Ike admitted in a statement, “I did it because I posted my demands concerning the games, but the games didn’t improve.”

Normally those disgruntled feelings for a developer potentially letting a once-great franchise slowly zombify into oblivion are reserved for message board rants. For this man, quality Bomberman was serious business.
