Treyarch’s first beta since World at War gets underway
The first multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops III has started, exclusively available on PlayStation 4 through the weekend. A beta test for PC and Xbox One will launch on August 26.
Three maps are playable, set in Ethiopia, Egypt and Singapore, and designed specifically around the new chained movement system Treyarch has developed. During the beta, seven game modes (Team Deathmatch, Domination, Demolition, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, Capture the Flag, and Search & Destroy) and eight of the new specialist classes will be available for prodding at, along with create-a-class customization and the weapon paint shop.
The beta starts with a level cap of 28, though this will expand into additional progression caps along the way, which Treyarch has indicated is aimed at performing particular stress tests. No doubt, someone is already frustrated by this.
And if you don’t have access to the beta yet, The Escapist may be able to help. We have 90 codes for the Black Ops III beta on PlayStation 4 which are being offered here on a first come, first served basis. Get while the getting is good, as they say.
