Corruption 2029 Gets 30 Minutes of Gameplay Ahead of Release Next Week

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The Bearded Ladies has opened the flood gates with nearly 30 minutes of Corruption 2029 gameplay footage. The team posted the video in order to give a clearer taste as to what players can expect going into this new top-down tactical action game. What’s here is particularly raw considering the live commentary provided by designer Lee Varley and director David Skarin, meaning there’s a lot of information to digest, but you can watch for yourself below.

The footage follows an early part of the game set around the Shady Oaks Motel. Aside from showcasing different portions of the gameplay itself, the video offers an extended look at the game’s version of a futuristic America.

Announced just a few days ago with an explosive reveal trailer, Corruption 2029 is the follow-up to The Bearded Ladies’ previous game, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden. Like its predecessor, this new game focuses on strategy with a mixture of turn-based combat and real-time exploration. This time around, however, the studio seems to be emphasizing the advanced weaponry that players will have at their disposal. The developers promise that the game is packed with difficulty that only those experienced with the genre can handle, but if you’ve played through Mutant Year Zero, Corruption 2029 looks to offer a similar experience.

The project has been in development for less than a year, with The Bearded Ladies saying work began just after Mutant Year Zero’s last DLC released in July of 2019.

Corruption 2029’s launch is just around the corner as it comes exclusively to the Epic Games Store on Feb. 17.
