Crystal Space, an open source 3-D game engine, received a significant update this weekend. The engine behind the Open Outcast and Planeshift projects went from version 1.0.1 to 1.2, after two release candidates.
In addition to numerous bug fixes and performance tweaks, the engine now features a new lightmapping tool and an updated terrain plug-in and a decal manager. Crystal Space is written in C++ and includes bindings for Python, Perl and Java.
