Days Gone PC release date

Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Bend Studio have announced a release date of May 18, 2021 for Days Gone on PC. The game will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store for $49.99.

A new trailer was posted detailing some PC features such as 21:9 ultra-wide monitor support, unlocked frame rates, and display customization. This includes an increased level of detail, increased foliage draw distances, and a super-resolution photo mode. Mouse and keyboard inputs, as well as first- and third-party controllers, will be supported too.

The PC version also has the post-launch content that the PlayStation 4 version had, including New Game Plus, Survival Mode, Challenge Mode, and additional bike skins.

Days Gone was announced for PC back in February, long ahead of its actual release date announcement today, and more titles from PlayStation will arrive on the platform later on. Another PlayStation game, Horizon Zero Dawn, released on PC last year, so Sony is still experimenting with launching its games on PC.

Unfortunately, it also looks like we won’t be getting a sequel to Days Gone. A Bloomberg article last week reported that a pitch for Days Gone 2 was rejected internally at Sony due to the first game having too long of a development cycle and the overall mixed reception. Also, former Bend Studio director Jeff Ross said the sequel would have featured a shared open world with cooperative play.
