Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise will seemingly launch later this year on PC, according to a 2020 annual report from Thunderful Group, the parent company of publisher Rising Star Games. Page 18 of the report shows a list of “externally developed games,” and it includes “Deadly Premonition 2 – Steam,” developed by Toybox, with a general 2021 release window.
Deadly Premonition 2 follows two concurrent stories. The first one features series protagonist Francis York Morgan, an FBI agent, as he solves a murder mystery in the fictional city of Le Carré, Louisiana. The other story introduces FBI agent Aaliyah Davis in the same city. The game takes place in 2019, when Aaliyah investigates, and York’s section takes place 14 years prior.
The game was first announced during a Nintendo Direct back in September 2019 and then released on July 10, 2020, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. It was criticized for its poor frame rate, so hopefully the PC version of the game will help solve that issue.
As noted, the report only indicates a vague 2021 launch for the title on PC, but if Deadly Premonition 2 has some sort of timed exclusivity agreement on Switch, then it’s reasonable to expect it to arrive sometime in the summer. There’s also no word on whether the game will come to other consoles like PlayStation or Xbox.
