Disintegration, New Sci-Fi Shooter from Halo Co-Creator, Revealed

Private Division and V1 Interactive, the new studio founded by Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto, have announced Disintegration.

The debut title of Seattle-based V1 Interactive, which Lehto founded in 2014, Disintegration is a sci-fi first-person shooter. That puts it well within Lehto’s purview as a creative director. V1’s vice president, Mike Gutmann, is a veteran of Zipper Interactive, the studio behind the SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs series, though it’s far too early to speculate whether Disintegration will have any SOCOM-style squad-based combat.

In fact, Disintegration‘s teaser trailer teases very little, apart from the fact that this upcoming sci-fi shooter will have technology and guns in it. A blog post on V1’s website from last December offers us the only other glimpse we’ve ever had at the title, in the form of some seemingly in-engine art depicting a ghost town in a Pacific Northwest-like setting, strewn with the debris of abandoned futuristic technology. Are we looking at a post-apocalypse? A dystopia? The sci-fi equivalent of an old bicycle getting tied to a post and left there until it rusts? We just don’t know yet. If you look closely, there’s also a raccoon in the concept art, so that’s fun. Maybe there’ll be raccoons in this game.

More information ā€” any information, really ā€” about Disintegration will be made available at Gamescom 2019 in August.

Disintegration does not yet have an announced platform, but it is tentatively planned for a 2020 release, during Take-Twoā€™s fiscal year 2021 (April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021).
