Dragon Age: Absolution Is a Netflix Animated Series Coming in December

The Dragon Age universe is expanding into animation, with BioWare and Netflix announcing Dragon Age: Absolution during Geeked Week 2022. A teaser trailer for the new animated series shows one minute of violent, action-packed footage to whet your appetite before it comes to the streaming platform this December. The series has confirmed six episodes telling a new Dragon Age story that was created in collaboration with the BioWare developers. See the Dragon Age: Absolution teaser trailer below.

Absolution takes place in Tevinter and follows a cast of characters that fit right in with Dragon Age lore. Netflix says fans should expect to see elves, mages, knights, Qunari, Red Templars, demons, and “other special surprises.” Mairghread Scott is the showrunner, with Red Dog Culture House producing. Details on the cast have not been revealed yet.

Dragon Age will join Netflix’s family of animated shows based on video games later this year, but die-hards are also looking forward to the next video game in the franchise. BioWare finally revealed Dragon Age: Dreadwolf as the title of its next game last week.

Dragon Age: Absolution is on track to arrive before the next video game does, so keep checking in for casting information as we wait for a concrete release date on Netflix.
