With 3 studios already operating in Canada, Electronic Arts has announced that it will close the Ontario offices of recently purchased DICE and interview many of its employees for positions in other locations.
EA, in an exclusive interview with gamesindustry.biz, confirmed the closing of DICE’s Canada studio. A spokesperson for the company said, “In Canada we have three locations – Burnaby, Vancouver and Montreal – so we didn’t need a development studio in Ontario.”
This news comes only days after EA announced the complete acquisition of DICE as an EA Studio, a process which had been years in the making.
The EA spokesperson went on to indicate that projects in progress at the closing studio would be transferred back to DICE’s Stockholm, Sweden location.
