Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition’s PC Version Is Here, but Players Are Having Issues with It

It’s sort of surreal to see a first-party PlayStation 4 game running on PC, but that’s exactly what we get today — thanks to the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store). It’s out now and it comes bundled with the game’s Frozen Wilds DLC, along with higher frame rates, better resolution, and mouse and keyboard (or DualShock 4) support.

However, players seem to be having issues with it, and in some cases it has been nearly unplayable due to bugs and glitches. Many players have reported frequent crashes and constant downscaling in resolution. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a patch soon.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Has “Shipped and Digitally Sold” Over 5 Million Copies

Today, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake has reached 5 million copies shipped and digitally sold. What makes that number more impressive is that it is only available on one platform, PlayStation 4. Square Enix also announced it was the highest-selling digital release on a PlayStation platform ever in Square Enix history.

The one thing to consider is that the terminology used — “shipped and digitally sold”– does not mean the game actually sold 5 million units. “Shipped” refers to the copies sent to retailers to be sold but does not necessarily account for actual sales. Nonetheless, this number will increase when it presumably comes to other platforms in the future.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Has Reached 22 Million Units Sold, Switch Hardware Up to 61 Million

In other news about sales figures, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an absolute behemoth, reaching 22.4 million units sold since its launch in March 2020. This makes it the second best-selling Nintendo Switch game ever, trailing only Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at 26.74 million (which had a three year head start, mind you).

Equally as impressive is that Nintendo Switch itself has surpassed 61 million units sold, nearly reaching the lifetime sales of the NES (which sits comfortably at around 61.91 million) since its launch in 1985. Nintendo is having a fantastic year, at least from a profitability point of view — and it’s only half over!

Marvel’s Avengers Preorder Beta Is Live Now

A bit ahead of schedule, Marvel’s Avengers‘ PS4 preorder beta is live now and includes campaign missions, challenges, and a taste of the game’s War Zones. Originally, the beta was set to go live tomorrow, but Square Enix and developer Crystal Dynamics decided to open the floodgates early. The beta’s reception has been mixed, as many have praised its combat, story, and characters but were more iffy on the live-service components. For right now, the beta is only available to PS4 players, with other platforms to follow on Aug. 14 and an open beta following that on Aug. 21.
