There’s plenty to discuss when it comes to video game news today — particularly in regards to sales stats. For starters, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is the fastest game in the series to reach 1 million copies sold, and August 2020’s NPD results have revealed the bestselling games of the month. Plus, Halo 3: ODST has gotten its PC release date, andĀ Cuphead toys have come to Arby’s. Here’s the video game news you might’ve missed on Sept. 14, 2020.

Arby’s Is Getting Cuphead Toys

At participating locations, Kids Meals at Arby’s will come with toys from Cuphead, in the form of launcher tokens, along with four buildable papercraft bosses from the game. This news comes from the official Twitter account for Studio MDHR, the developer of the game. It’s unclear how long this promotion will last, but Arby’s has confirmed it will be for a limited time. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 Is the Fastest Game in the Series to Reach 1 Million Copies Sold

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is doing extremely well and is the fastest game in the series to reach 1 million copies sold. Considering there are around 20 entries in the series, this is an impressive achievement. It proves that nostalgia is a powerful thing, and thanks to the hard work at developer Vicarious Visions, this collection was able to come together nicely. From a critical standpoint, it’s been performing tremendously too, garnering high praises from fans and reviewers alike.

NPD Results: Madden NFL and UFC 4 Were the Bestselling Games of August 2020

Mat Piscatella of the NPD Group has published the NPD results for the month of August 2020. Madden NFL 21 was the bestselling game in the United States, followed by UFC 4 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Keep in mind that these stats pertain to physical and digital sales in the U.S. unless noted otherwise. Aside from that, Ghost of Tsushima has continued its success, taking the fourth spot, followed by Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Check out the full thread below.

Halo 3: ODST Comes to PC Later This Month

Halo 3: ODST will launch for The Master Chief Collection on PC on Sept. 22, as revealed by the official Halo Twitter account today. While the PC version won’t serve as a remake or total overhaul of the original game, it will include some improvements — particularly in the visual department, as it’ll be playable at “4k UHD and at 60+ FPS” according to the Steam page. It’s available to pre-purchase now.

Bungie Apparently Was Not in Talks to Be Purchased by Microsoft

Earlier today, there were reports making the rounds that Microsoft had been in talks to purchase Destiny developer Bungie. The rumor was that Microsoft had attempted to purchase the studio on various occasions but was unable to due to its high cost. This news spread with some speed, but Bungie CEO Pete Parsons has stated that these claims are false. In response to a tweet by popular Twitter user Nibel about the potential acquisition, Parsons said “this is false.” That’s all Parsons said in regards to the alleged acquisition attempts, and while he didn’t elaborate, most assume it means that Microsoft was not attempting to purchase Bungie.
