This article is over 18 years old and may contain outdated information

Sierra has announced that the multiplayer component of F.E.A.R will be released free of charge on August 17th.

Re-branded as F.E.A.R Combat, the multiplayer mode for the popular FPS game will be made available free to download for players who do not own the full game. Players who download the multiplayer component will be able to play with retail owners and other F.E.A.R Combat users online without any restrictions. The download pack includes all of the game updates, 10 game modes, 19 maps, Punkbuster and mod support. The Gamespy server stats page shows F.E.A.R as having 94 active servers at the time of this posting, with fewer active players than the Soldier of Fortune 2 demo.

To download the pack on August 17th, visit the Join Fear website and register for a keycode.
