A new DLC pack adds seven new weapons to Shepard’s armory in single-player.
Ever felt that the arsenal in Mass Effect 3‘s story was a bit lean? If so, you’ll be pleased to know that BioWare has seen fit to give you a handful of the game’s multiplayer-only weapons to use in the single-player campaign – for a price.
The Firefight DLC pack unlocks a selection of medium to long range weapons for Commander Shepard and crew: the Indra and Kyrsae sniper rifles, Reegar Carbine, Harrier battle rifle, and Geth SMG. A couple of new weapons have been thrown in too, including the Blood Pack Punisher SMG and Adas Anti-Synthetic rifle. Gamers hoping for some quick and easy weapon unlocks in multiplayer are out of luck – they’re only available for use the single-player campaign. If you’re keen on deploying some new ordnance for The Shep, you can do so for an extra $2 or 160 MS points.
It may seem like a stretch to ask players to pay for what appears to be pre-existing assets, but BioWare is offering the DLC pack due to popular demand to have the multiplayer-only weapons in the single-player game. Furthermore, the inclusion of “two amazing new guns never before seen anywhere else, plus one ultra-rare weapon only available previously as a limited promotional item” should entice some Mass Effect fans out there.
