Splash Damage, the studio behind Brink and Gears Tactics, is making an exclusive game for Google Stadia. Google announced the partnership during its Games Developer Summit today, with the London-based developer later sharing its thoughts on its website:

At Splash Damage we’re always looking to innovate, and always looking for partners and platforms that allow us to do just that. We’ve been huge fans of Stadia ever since it was announced and have been amazed by both the technology and passion for gaming that the Stadia team has.

Splash Damage will have more to talk about “in the coming months.”

Along with creating the multiplayer experience for the last two mainline Gears of War games, Splash Damage has had its hands in a number of big projects over the last decade, including the multiplayer for Batman: Arkham Origins and the PC port for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The team has a healthy amount of experience in the multiplayer category but has not shared what form this new exclusive Google Stadia title will take.

Google’s cloud-based gaming platform hasn’t had the most successful launch thanks to its criticized launch lineup and pricing model, but that hasn’t stopped the company from supporting Stadia so far. Earlier this month, Google opened up a studio led by former Sony Santa Monica Studio head Shannon Studstill.
