Genshin Impact is an open-world action adventure gacha game from miHoYo, the creators of the hit mobile game franchise Honkai Impact. Set in a fantasy world full of gods and magic, it follows one of two angelic twins who get separated from each other after crossing a mysterious and powerful deity.

The similarities in style and mechanics to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are readily apparent. MiHoYo used that incredible game as a base upon which to build its own, and it absolutely works. It’s created both a fantastic single-player RPG and live-service co-op game that just happens to have the most unobtrusive gacha mechanics in recent memory, but after 25 hours of playtime I feel like Iā€™ve only scratched the surface. Genshin Impact currently rivals one of the best games Iā€™ve ever played, and theyā€™re only just getting started.

Genshin Impact is out now on PC, Android, IOS, and PS4 for free.
