Arc System Works has announced that along with its previously announced PS4 and arcade releases, Guilty Gear: Strive will also be releasing on PS5 and PC in 2021.
This announcement comes courtesy of the Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable digital event. Guilty Gear: Strive will also see the return of Leo Whitefang, as well as the introduction of an original character, Nagoriyuki, as playable characters.
Leowhitefang governs Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania as one of the three Allied Kings of the Allied Kingdom of Illyria. Nagoriyuki is a vampire who brandishes a very large sword and wears some sort of face shield or mask during battle. More information on Nagoriyuki will be revealed in the future.
Guilty Gear: Strive‘s new trailer shows off the two characters and their different attacks in the franchise’s signature gorgeous cel-shaded art style. Additionally, the trailer notes that the next character trailer will drop in early October.
Guilty Gear: Strive was announced last year at Evo 2019 after Tekken 7‘s portion ended. It looks like it was originally planned for a 2020 release, but it has been pushed back to 2021.
So far, there is no confirmed release date, but the end of the trailer notes “Early 2021.” The game is also confirmed to have both English and Japanese voice tracks.
