Hollow Knight: Silksong, E3 2021, Team Cherry, update

Hollow Knight: Silksong Dev Team Cherry Will Bring No News to E3

The wait continues. Developer Team Cherry will have no Hollow Knight: Silksong news to announce at E3 2021. Matthew Griffin, who is working as part of the game’s marketing and publishing team, gave fans the heads-up on the official Hollow Knight Discord.

“Hey guys,” Griffin said. “I just wanted to pop in to let you know that Team Cherry does not have any announcements/blogs scheduled for E3 this year.”

The online E3 event is only a few weeks away now. So, while we won’t get an update on Hollow Knight: Silksong in the next month at E3, news before the end of the year is still a possibility. However, Team Cherry has mostly kept mum since the project was unveiled two years ago as a follow-up to its 2017 Metroidvania hit, so it’s probably best to keep expectations low for now.

Our last major Hollow Knight: Silksong update came with a late-2020 issue of Edge magazine, where the publication got an exclusive look at Team Cherry’s latest creation and some of the ways it will differ from its predecessor. Still, though, fans are without any sort of release window.

Hollow Knight launched on PC in 2017 and came to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One the next year. For now, only PC and Switch versions have been announced for the sequel.
