House of the Dragon Trailer Promises a Fiery Battle for the Iron Throne

House of the Dragon will mark an action-packed return to Westeros when it premieres on HBO Max on August 21, and that fact has never been clearer than in today’s new, official trailer. The Iron Throne will soon seat a new Targaryen, but blood will be shed before a decision is made. This prequel series set 200 years before HBO’s Game of Thrones will explore the battle between Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) and Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), with the victor emerging as the new ruler.

It looks like an exciting entry so far, but it’s far from the only project in the works.
