The new Classic TV Series Batcave will include more than 2,500 pieces and cost $269.99.
Batman is one of the most iconic superheroes of all time and, while he has had many popular incarnations, the one that’s most memorable for many is Adam West’s version from the 1966 TV series. West’s Batman was far goofier than the grim ones that would become the standard in the years to come. There’s no lack, in turn, for people who still love the TV show and its lighthearted trappings. 2016 will represent the 50th anniversary of Batman and LEGO, hoping to celebrate, has announced a new set to commemorate the classic show.
Containing 2,526 pieces, the new Classic TV Series Batcave set will be an impressive recreation of the Wayne Mansion and Batcave from the show. The set will include an attractive exterior and a study complete with the show’s iconic Batphone and, of course, a sliding book case that reveals a hidden entrance to the Batcave. The Batcave itself will include a Batcomputer, a helipad and a vehicle port for the Batmobile and Batcycle. The cave will come with a full compliment of “Bat-gadgets.” The completed Batcave will be more than 18 inches tall, 22 inches wide and 7 inches deep.
Perhaps most impressive of all however, will be the set’s compliment of vehicles and mini-figures. The set will come with pieces to build a Batcycle, Batcopter and, best of all, a detailed version of the show’s iconic Batmobile. It will also be packaged with a whopping nine mini-figures based on classic series renditions of famous Batman characters including Batman, Robin, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Alfred Pennyworth, the Joker (complete with Cesaro Romero’s mustache), Catwoman, The Riddler and The Penguin.
According to LEGO, the Classic TV Series Batcave will release this March and cost a whopping 269.99 dollars. As pricey as that is though, this is one case where we’re thinking the LEGO brick bang might be worth the exorbitant bucks. Check out the images LEGO’s released and let us know if you’re as excited for this one as we are.
