Lies of P gameplay trailer Pinocchio Soulslike mechanoid Gamescom ONL Round8

Lies of P Gameplay Trailer Is Straight-Up Dark Soulslike Pinocchio

At Gamescom Opening Night Live (ONL) 2022, NEOWIZ finally offered the gameplay reveal trailer for Lies of P, a dark Soulslike take on Pinocchio. The game will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam in 2023. The premise is that you are “puppet mechanoid” Pinocchio, seeking Mr. Geppetto in the city of Krat, which is “overwhelmed by madness and bloodlust.” Krat is inspired by the late 19th century Belle Ɖpoque Era in Europe.

Lies of P cryptically states that you “must always lie to others if you hope to become human,” which sure sounds like it will play into the game’s larger themes. But it also clearly plays into gameplay, as interconnected procedural quests will change depending upon how you lie and ultimately affect the ending you receive. In combat, you will be able to combine weapons to create something new, in addition to changing parts of Pinocchio’s mechanoid body for additional skills and advantages.
