Mario Maker lets players make levels for the original Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. U.
It looks like that Mario Maker rumor we saw crop up just before E3 is true. At this morning’s Nintendo E3 direct, the company has unveiled the new “Little Big Planet-but-Mario” construction title. From the looks of things, players will be able to make their own custom levels for both the original Super Mario Bros. as well as the Wii U’s Super Mario Bros. U, and then challenge your friends to beat your levels.
From the looks of things, players will use the Wii U’s touch screen and stylus to place a level’s feature. It has a very Mario Paint feel to it, and players will be able to switch between the Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. U versions of a level that they are editing on-the-fly.
There also appears to be some new items that are exclusive to the game, such as a “thin” mushroom that makes Mario take a diet. No release date has been given for the title as of yet.
