Marvel Studios Halloween Trailer Turns Funny MCU Moments Into Horrifying Ones

Marvel Studios has a new Halloween trailer that cherry picks the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s stranger moments and turns them into pure nightmare fuel.

We’re not getting a new MCU Halloween special this year, unless you count the colour version of Werewolf by Night. Instead, Marvel Studios has put out a “Treat Yourself to a Marvel Studios Halloween” trailer that will give you the chills.

At least, it will if you don’t immediately recognise the movies the scenes are from. The trailer is made up of scenes from various MCU movies, some of which were played for laughs and some which were disturbing to begin with.

The trailer applies a horror filter or two, and some spooky music, and hey presto, an MCU Halloween. Let’s face it, you wouldn’t want Zombie Stephen Strange turning up at your door this October 31.

It’s not the first time someone’s taken a movie, or in this case movies, and given them a twisted spin. It’s been eleven years since Peter Javidpour turned Mrs Doubtfire into a horror movie and it’s as disturbing as it ever was. Conversely, that same year we got an HD version of The Shining as an uplifting family story.

As trailers go, Marvel’s effort is kind of fun, though we’ve still got our fingers crossed for a live-action Marvel Zombies, complete with all the gore that What If didn’t show.

So what movies and shows figure into this trailer? We’ve not sat down with pen and paper but so far we’ve seen:

  • Ant-Man (or one of the first two movies, anyway)
  • Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness
  • Moon Knight
  • Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Thor: Ragnarok
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron
  • Werewolf by Night
  • Doctor Strange
  • Loki

If you can spot any we’ve missed, let us know in the comments, and have a Happy Halloween.
