Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition Revealed, PS5 & XSX Upgrades Detailed

Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition is launching later this year and brings a host of new improvements with it. Details on the upgrade, which will be available as a separate product this spring, were published on developer 4A Games’ website along with more information on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S upgrades. As with the console versions, owners of the original game on Steam, GOG, or the Epic Games Store can download the Enhanced Edition for free.

Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition will take advantage of advanced ray tracing and support DLSS 2.0 on Nvidia hardware. The developer is overhauling its engine to create a fully ray-traced experience for Metro Exodus owners on PC, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S.

On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X specifically, 4A promises 4K resolution at 60 FPS with ray tracing for the base Metro Exodus experience and its DLC. Of course, these upgraded versions of the game will also feature reduced loading times in addition to 4K texture packs. On PlayStation, the game takes advantage of the DualSense haptic features, with controller latency improvements and spatial audio features for those on Xbox.

Meanwhile, 4A is targeting 1080p on Xbox Series S, with other upgrades like frame rate still being worked out. This version of Metro Exodus will still support ray tracing, though. Smart Delivery will be enabled for those that own the game on any supported Microsoft service when the upgrades come to consoles sometime later this year.

Metro Exodus is now set to arrive on Mac sometime in March, and the Linux version will launch before the year is out.
