Super Bowl Teaser Delivers Best Look at Moon Knight Yet

The Super Bowl has come and gone, and Marvel dropped a massive trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which basically blew everyone’s mind. However, that wasn’t the only ad that the studio ran. The Super Bowl also provided a “Big Game TV Spot” teaser for the upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaac as the titular hero.

It’s pretty obvious why this one played second fiddle to internet discourse. Not only is Doctor Strange the next linchpin film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s multiverse storyline, but this Moon Knight Super Bowl teaser is pretty much a bunch of stuff we’ve seen before. It does, however, give us our best look yet at Isaac as Moon Knight, not just his alter ego Marc Spector / Steven Grant, and a slightly longer look of Ethan Hawke as sketchy cult leader Arthur Harrow. The 30-second spot emphasizes that Spector doesn’t really want to be Moon Knight all that much as he battles against the Egyptian god, and the other personalities, living inside of him.

In the show, Steven discovers that he is also mercenary Marc, and the two personalities are thrust into even more danger when they get caught up in a mystery involving Egyptian gods. As shown off better in the first trailer, the series looks to be a dark one for Marvel, focusing on mental health and featuring a bit more violence than we’re used to from the MCU. Of course, it won’t tip into Daredevil territory, but those days of a subdivision of violent MCU content are long gone.

Moon Knight will debut on Disney+ on March 30.
