Soulslike Mortal Shell has been given a release date – and it’s only two weeks away. Developer Cold Symmetry and publisher Playstack announced a release date of Aug. 18 in a new, metal-as-hell trailer. There are a few interesting details to point out in the footage, too, such as the inclusion of Mortal Shell’s ranged weapon, the Ballistazooka, and the game’s fourth Shell, Solomon. If you’re hungry for more Mortal Shell gameplay, or if you are just in the mood for some blood-pumping footage, you can watch the video below.

Cold Symmetry and Playstack revealed Mortal Shell in April of this year as an interesting twist on the Soulslike genre. Today’s announcement comes hot on the heels of the game’s beta test, which garnered more than 350,000 players in one week.

Mortal Shell launches Aug. 18 on PC via The Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game will release on Steam in 2021 following a timed exclusivity period with Epic Games.

The Escapist’s Elijah Beahm got a chance to check out the game early in July and came away with high hopes, saying, “If what I played of Mortal Shell’s any indication, Cold Symmetry has a hit on its hands.”
